Vanilla Tea Cake







Vanilla Tea Cake With Butter Cinnamon Frosting

Makes 1x 20 cm cake

Preparation time : 15 minutes

Cooking time : 45 minutes

 CAKE INGREDIENTS
50 g butter softened
3/4th cup Milk (Room Temperature)
130g Caster Sugar ( Grind normal sugar in the Mixer then weigh)
1 Egg (Room Temperature)
1.5 tsp Baking Powder
170g Plain Flour
1 tsp Vanilla Essence

FROSTING INGREDIENTS

60g caster sugar (grind regular sugar then weigh)
40g softened butter
1tsp cinnamon ground

 CAKE DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven at 180 degrees C. Lightly grease and flour cake tin.

Use wooden spoon / spatula to cream together butter and sugar by hand till well combined.

Add egg to the butter-sugar mixture. Beat again till very well incorporated .

Sift flour and baking powder together.

Fold the flour and baking powder gently into the egg-butter mixture alternating with milk.

Spoon batter into the prepared cake tin.

Bake in pre-heated oven for 40 minutes or until cake is well risen and a tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Cool cake for 10 minutes . Remove from cake tin and let it cool completely.

FROSTING DIRECTIONS

Cream together softened butter and caster sugar in a bowl , add cinnamon (ground) and mix very well till everything is well combined and desired consistency has been reached.

Put frosting over cake using a spoon or pallet knife.

To finish, dust cake with some ground cinnamon.
